ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Where do the items come from?

All our products are handmade in Africa. Our brass and beaded jewelry is handcrafted mostly by talented Kenyan women in Nairobi, while our clothing and stone bracelets are handmade by Nigerian female entrepreneurs in Lagos. The woven and sisal jewelry and baskets are made by an amazing Rwandan artisan we work with.

The jewelry is made mostly of brass, glass and Masai beads and locally sourced stones. We have also recently added the sisal and woven  earrings to the offer.

Jeweller’s brass is composed of Copper and Zinc. Brass is known for its strength and durability. However, brass is also very malleable, which makes it ideal for making jewellery with complex shapes.

We collaborate closely with local female artisans and tailors who make our pieces. We treat them as part of the team and they are fairly compensated for their work. We believe that working under fair business terms creates sustainable partnerships – our makers have amazing talents and we just want to give them a platform to showcase their work in different markets and a stable source of income that allows them to grow.

Given the fact that each piece is truly handmade, it will always be one of a kind. Thanks to that they are never multiple copies of an original, but each one is a work-of-art on its own. We try to keep them as close as possible to what you see on the pictures, but there may be small differences.

If you have an idea for a jewellery design, please email us a description of what you have in mind. We may be able to produce a custom beaded bracelet or necklace for you (for example in your chosen colour or pattern), but we’d need to check with our local craftsmen first.

You can choose the best payment method for you – we accept card and transfer payment, mobile payments including Google Pay, Apple Pay and BLIK, as well as PayPal for foreign currencies. In case you experience any issues, please feel free to reach out to us at any time.
